SPECIAL CLASS:

The Structure

     1.     Each child must be assessed and an appropriate programme designed to suit his/her individual needs.

     2.     Each child will receive special education services in a full-time special class with a pupil teacher ratio of
             two to fifteen (1 special educator and one specially trained aide).

     3.     In the second and third years, the child is either prepared for entry to a regular school, integrated into
             vocational setting with support services being provided in the special class on a part-time basis or
             recommended to sit Grade 9 or Grade 6 examinations to traditional schools.

     4.     Professional support services may be secured when necessary.

 

Programme Designed

Objectives:

To see to the provision or implementation of:

     1.     Education for multiple disabled children who require special individualized instruction and services.

Textbooks will be provided by the parents.  The services from the following personnel may be engaged if and when necessary (at the Center's expense).

     (a)     The Physiotherapist

     (b)     The Psychologist

     (c)     The Social Worker

There will be a small charge for the computer laboratory use.

     2.     Exceptional educational services using only trained specialists in the field.

     3.     Diagnostic/Prescriptive teaching
